Terry King (Deputy Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Economic Development), opened the business at Rutland Telecom's new premises in Oakham, by connecting a cable to a router, thereby bringing the first gigabit network and SDSL services to the county.
Ron Simpson (Secretary of Uppingham First) read messages of support from Stephen Fry and Lord Carter of The Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (Digital Britain).
